In addition to

Dolly at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle
Washington. Stephen is currently director of
Ballet Arts Center for Dance, the
longest-established continuously-operating dance
studio in New York City (www.balart.com)
located in the landmark City Center Theatre, 130
W. 56th Street, NYC.
Most
significantly, Stephen’s direct work with
theatrical icons such as Jerome
Robbins, Susan Stroman, Frank Galati, Gillian
Lyne, Michael Blakemore, Wayne Cillento, Fred
Ebb, Gerald Gutierrez, Mike Ockrent, Tina
Landau, and Kathleen Marshall adds a
wealth of professional knowledge to his class teachings.
And coupled with
his work as an SSDC director / choreographer and
owner / director of the historic Ballet Arts Center for Dance in New York City,
Stephen can give his students invaluable,
professional insight into the grueling audition process and
strenuous requirements of being a
professional performer in the American Musical
Theatre scene.
Stephen is
proud owner and studio director of Ballet Arts
Center for Dance, the longest-established ballet
school in Manhattan. Established in 1937, the
school is located in the landmark City Center
Theatre, 130 W. 56th St, NYC. Originally founded
by the legendary Yeichi Nimura, the studio was
operated for many years by the Dean Crane
family. Stephen continues this historic
tradition and the studio continues to provide
professional-level classical ballet training to
serious students from around the world.
